About Boudhanath Stupa
Located within 3km from Hotel Bardan Boutique, Boudhanath Stupa is one of the most iconic structures in the world and a holy place for Buddhists all over the world. It is one of the most imposing landmarks in Kathmandu, visible as soon as you land at Tribhuvan International Airport.

The stupa is on the ancient trade route from Tibet which enters the Kathmandu Valley. Tibetan merchants have rested and offered prayers here for many centuries. When refugees entered Nepal from Tibet in the 1950s, many decided to live around Boudhanath. The Stupa is said to entomb the remains of Kassapa Buddha.
